The Cargo Airport

State Rep. Todd Eachus, WHY are you in solid support of the Cargo Airport?

Is it because you want to take the public's attention off the much more important issue -- the dumping of river dredge and other hazardous pollutants in the Greater Hazleton area?

If the Cargo Airport becomes a reality, where will all of its estimated 4,500 employees live? Will homes be constructed on top of the former Hazleton City Landfill where millions of millions of tons hazardous waste are buried and more toxic material dumped on top of it?

How many more people will end up dying as a result of the poisons already buried there? And yet you want to bring in more!

Todd Eachus, If you don't stop the river dredge, why would you want to bring in more people to the Hazleton area to work at the Cargo Airport?

It undoubtedly will make the present problem a whole lot worse.

Would you allow members of your family to live atop the former Hazleton Landfill -- on top of a Hell Hole?

As for you, Mayor Barletta, you have used the Hispanics as the Whipping Boy for your money-making ambition of bringing in poisons galore.

Is it okay to import more poisons, with NO REGARD for human life -- no matter their race?

Could it be, In your mind, that the Hispanics are no better than the coal miners and their families of yesteryear, persecuted by the heartless Coal Barons. If they die, they die! Hell, it's NO BIG DEAL!. After all, the mules were worth more than a coal miner's life.

It makes no difference to you, and the other "Pillars of Society" in the Greater Hazleton area? It's simply business as usual.

Donald Pachence, Sam Lesante, Bill Washko and Jim Dino and the Standard-Speaker continually heap praise on the "Pillars of Society."

But they, in fact, are no different than a propaganda machine working for the Third Reich.
